EPYDC is very proud of its resource library which is open to its members and the public. This library includes videos and books on a wide variety of health and career related issues.

Another service provided by EPYDC is a "Job Referral" initiative. Local employers can contact the Centre with current job opening(s). Centre employment counsellors then contact members who might meet the skill/qualification requirements to fill the position and these members are referred to the employer for an interview for the position.

Each year, East Prince Youth Development Centre refers young people who are lacking work experience or the skills, confidence and knowledge to seek appropriate employment. EPYDC refers to young adults to programs such as those run by the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce and the Construction Association of PEI. Over the past years, many young people have had the opportunity to participate in these programs. Here, they participate in classroom training (employment maintaince skills and assessments) and an on-the-job training component. Upon completion, some are hired by their OJT host, or leave the program with the skills, knowledge and confidence to seek other employment or training.

Application Criteria:

1. Between the ages of 15-30
2. A member of the East Prince Youth Development Centre
3. Furthering their education and career goals by attending or will be attending a licensed educational institution (college or university) on a part-time or full-time basis in the next school term
4. Attached two letters of reference, other than friends or relatives, who can comment on their commitment to education and learning
5. A submitted bursary application (Bursary Application Form - [Printable PDF file])
