Customer Assistance Service Training

This program will target clientele who will be trained to work in the Tourism industry. CUSTOMER SERVICE training will be high priority in this program.

 

Along with offering training to participants we will be filling a need within the Tourism sector. And that is trained, ready to work individuals.

 

This will be achieved by offering (2 intakes) of 5 weeks group-based training along with numerous tours of tourism related businesses, guest speakers/employers, and hands-on training at Summerside Waterfront Café and Training Centre as well as tours throughout Central and West Prince PEI and certifications in First Aid - CPR - WHMIS - Food handling - PEI Best Service Excellence - Responsible Beverage

 

 Our CAST program  focus on customer service in these categories: Lodging – Food Service – Tour guides – Retail shops – Parks – Attractions – And other Tourism related businesses.

Prosper West

The Prosper West Program will help to bridge a gap by providing group-based training sessions, life skills, employment ready skills, resource connections, reality checks and positive support to participants in the Prince County area.

 

 Prosper West  will deliver Group-based Life and Employability Skills in Summerside and Bloomfield. These pre-employment activities will provide additional development before advancing to the labour market. This group-based intervention will offer participants the opportunity to participate in workshops to learn or enhance skills transferable to the workplace through 10 weeks of classroom sessions. (including OJT opportunities) Through this process P W.  will assist  participants in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to make a successful transition to the labour market.


This intervention will also support  individuals to obtain employment in the private sector. A key feature of the Prosper West Program will be the provision of ongoing employment coaching and mentoring to ensure each participant maximizes their opportunity for improved life skills and/or long term labour force attachment.


Participants will receive certifications in:  First Aid - CPR - WHMIS - Food handling - PEI Best Service Excellence - Customer service and Kitchen Prep - As well as other certifications as required such as Flagging, Fork lift or Responsible beverage.

Re-Connect

Through this project Connection 2 Employment PEI will support participants requiring life skills (ages 18+) by providing group-based sessions, tours and mental well-being activities (such as music therapy – animal therapy – art therapy) and hands-on experience to assist individuals to become more confident, independent and better able to deal with life stressors.


There will also be a Community Kitchen component, where participants learn how to shop on a budget and learn how to cook nutritious meals for their families.


 This portion of the program teaches time management, budgeting, following direction, giving direction, team work and cooking.


NOTE: With this program there will be no pressure to secure employment at the end of the group-based training. This is a life skill only program to assist participants with gaining skills and self confident to be the best they can be and have the confidence to apply for employment ready programs and be in a place in their lives where they are ready to make this transition.


This 8 week program will help individuals to take their next steps in life.
